چکیده

37 Abstract To determine the effect of bilateral uterine artery ligation (BUAL) on mast cell (MC) distribution, 24 mature female rabbits were studied. The rabbits were ovariohysterectomized on day 23, 43 or 63 following BUAL. Histological sections were stained with toluidine blue to determine the MC distribution. In rabbits that had undergone BUAL, MCs were present extensively in the helium of the treated ovaries, in dense groups close to the blood vessels. In the control group, MCs were observed at a medium density around the blood vessels and the number of MCs in the reproductive tract was significantly ( 0.01) lower than in the test groups. This study demonstrates that, after BUAL, the distribution and numbers of MCs differ between different parts of the reproductive system. Uterine Artery Interruption: Evidence for Follicular Growth and Histochemical and Biochemical Changes

BACKGROUND The present study was conducted in order to evaluate the effects of bilateral uterine artery ligation (BUAL) on the ovarian follicular fate, and alterations in carbohydrate, lipid, lipase and serum levels of F9SH, LH, prolactin, estrogen and progesterone. METHODS Twenty-four mature female rabbits divided into two test and control-sham groups. The animals underwent ovariohystrectomy...

Histomorphometric and immunohistochemical evaluation of angiogenesis in local ischemia by tissue engineering method in rat: Role of mast cells

The aim of this study was to find a proper method for improvement of ischemic condition in the rat hind limb and also to observe the efficacy of cell engraftment with alginate/gelatin three-dimensional scaffolds. Eighteen male Wistar rats weighing 200 to 250 g were randomly divided into three groups (n = 6) including a) ischemia group; in which femoral artery was removed after ligation at the d...

Effects of Platelet-Rich Plasma & Platelet-Rich Fibrin with and without Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 on Repairing Full-Thickness Cartilage Defects in Knees of Rabbits

Background: The purpose of this study was to create biomaterial scaffolds like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) containing stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF1) as a chemokine to induce hyaline cartilage regeneration of rabbit knee in a full thickness defect. Methods: We created a full thickness defect in the trochlear groove of thirty-six bilateral knees of eighteen matu...

Bilateral Variation of Internal Iliac Artery

Understanding anatomical variations can help physicians achieve better results in clinical practice. During routine dissection, we found variations in the branches of Internal Iliac Artery (IIA) of a 65-year-old Iranian female cadaver. The IIA ended by dividing to an unusual smaller anterior and a greater posterior trunk which was branched to the inferior gluteal arteries. Both pelvis and the u...
